e-Century Hummingbird - Swift > CNC Grips not giving equal pitch????

OK Question...I have my Swift set up mechanically perfect.

Links are all bang on 90* All line up perfect on one side..then I copy the links to the other side.
Even using this http://www.centuryheli.com/products...53&prtnm=CN2255

Now when I put the stick @ 50% I get zero degrees* on one grip
and +3 degrees on the other But all my links are exactly the same as the 0* side.

With all my other machines I never had to mess with tracking on the first flight. I make sure the links are bang on, and the first flights the tracking is always perfect. Until I got this swift with metal grips

I can adjust the links so the tracking is on, but then it makes all the geometry a little off to correct the problem. I do not like this one bit.

I wanted to know if anybody else with the swift 620 or metal grips on their swifts have this problem??

Anybody have the links Identical from one side to the next and getting the same pitch reading with the cnc grips??

Or are people just living with a few turns on one link different from the other?

Are they new? Are the arms bent? They should line up fine assuming they are not bent. BTW is the flybar straight?

Yup. On my 620 I had to shorten/lengthen the links slightly to get both blades at exactly 0 degrees at mid-stick. What's happening is that since the grips are a two-piece design, there is a slight amount of rotation(upon assembly) between the grip itself and the arm. You should be able to assemble the grips so that this difference in pitch is null or insignificant.

Chances are you won't feel a difference otherwise.

Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else.

I had my 620 grip arms bend on a spool down.with the woosy landing gear and at just the right haedspeed at spooldown it will do a chicken dance and bend those arms, brand new heli and it wassss perfect.so i found that the arms are incredibly soft and can be straitened with needle nose pliers on th heli. Not impressed!!
My point is that as soft as the arms are you could have a bent one with out crashing it.I will be laying in a supply of spares for myself. This 620 is really making me apreciat my swift 16's.never had any chicken dance or head issues with either one of them.

Are these the original grips? What blades?

Origanal grips right out of the box first flight on spool down.600mm maverick blades witch have been on 5 other helis with no issues.

Your blades may have warped.

Have you tried checking the blades on another heli that has different blades?

e.g. Set the blades on the other heli at 0 degrees and measure to confirm they are both at 0 pitch, then remove them and install your Mavericks. Now measure both to confirm they both also read 0 degrees.

If they do not, they have warped.

thats a good idea they are just g4 mavericks.Ihave a set of g5 pros on th way to try.I did notice that thesen g4's do vibrate more then other blades when unloading the pitch and they talk more in the air.

Thanks guys, At least I'm not the only one.
First set of CNC grips that came with the kit were defective from the get go. The button head cap screws would not seat all the way in properly, and the pitch was out from one another. So I just put on my 550 plastic grips on till I get my replacements.

Well it sure looks sweet in that pic, but that did not last long. Basically those radix 600mm blades are toast along with a list of parts do to a crash from blade grip failure.
First flight happened about 3 foot hover then boom! I got it all fixed up, then put on a new set of plastic 550 grips... I thought maybe the last set were in a crash, they could of had a crack in them.
I was wrong! The second brand new set failed also
So I got it all fixed up again, now with the second brand new set of CNC blade grips for this swift 620, and find out my blades are off from each other The arms are straight! Its in the two piece design that the grips are out. If the grips are not machined bang on at all times, they can differ from on another

Wow to hear how soft they are amazes me
I will do what centuryman had to do ..although the arms are not bent, I will take some pliers to the grips, and bend the arms slightly to see if I can get them both 0* with the links all Copied

Oh ya...I also attached the boom struts to the frame.
I just used longer screws with brass spacers.(I only used the spacers so the support rods clear the tail servo)
The landing struts are from the Trex600N...NO MORE CHICKEN DANCE!!!

I was just going to ask where the landing gear were from.
On my 2 swift 16's i use compass knight landing gear.they work fine except they are to low and i have to use extra shims in the back to keep the tail off the ground.
I broke down today and ordered 2 set's of radix 600mm blades to try.
I heard from people that tryed them against vblades that the radix were the best.
Seeing as how i have 19 helis and about 3/4 of them are bladeless at the moment due to a bad run of luck last winter.
Any ways i will find a home for any blades that i don't use on the 620
