That's true enough, they could be. However they are useful for people to see as long as they realise there own personal engine's plug may not be the same shade of brown/grey that they see posted here.

So what method have you found works for you and I assume from your comments, Gasser newbis Ace?

Well it is getting off topic but I feel a newbie should not buy anything used to start. Next you don't make any adjustments for the first gallon because the setting is already rich. Mineral oil to start and synthetic after the second gallon.

The likelyhood is you will only be leaning the low needle 1/8 to 1/4 turn total and not even moving the hi needle.

If it were a start from scratch with an unknown engine I believe peek RPM and back off 1/8 turn or 200 RPM is the way to go (just like a glow or any two cycle engine). I know you didn't want to hear it.
