Hi guys!
I just want to introduce myself and my little beast.
Iīm from germany (Hamburg), and started flying last year in august.
Iīve been reading a lot here on RR itīs the best forum on rc helis IMO.
If you want to know the freshest news, itīs on RR for sure...

I got this baby for quite a while now but it took me a while to get a nice setup (This Vbar thing can be pretty complicated).
But now i am definetly in love with the Spike.
as far as i can see itīs virtually maintenence free.
And it can take all the punishment you can throw at it (see the log!)

I just came from the flying field:
I used to fly with 3600rpm Headspeed, because i thought thats enough power for me. But as ia am getting better i feel the need for more pop.
So today i increased to 3800rpm. I measured some peak power of 850 Watts.

But still i would say, vertical acceleration wise my spike is still a little less (very little indeed) than Bertīs T-rex in the "3s power" video.
Also the esc seems to have problems holding the headspeed.

Does someone has a recommendation how to fix that?
I made a screenshot of the esc programming menue, maybe someone can tell what parameter i have to tweak so that the esc keeps holding the head speed!?

If you dont win a drag race at any of the fun flies you attend its because your heli exploded. I cannot see how any heli would be faster..lol

second...nice heli!

I see two things about your ESC settings that I would question...

1. RPM has three settings...1,2 nd 3...any description attached to these numbers as per ESC instructions?

2. Frequency...you only have two choices here.

Which method did you use to increase your head speed another 200rpm?

3800 does seem excessive.

Blade pitches?
