What is the most widely used Li-Po monitor visual and audible? I'm in the market for one.

A timer on your TX is the best way to go. Voltage alarms are not very popular among experienced pilots.

Agree, Timer first,
then a spartan lipo guard as backup.

Spartan is the only one I found thats actually visible even during daylight from a loooong way.
(all audio ones go because they dont overpower the sound of bigger helis)

What about an Eagle tree system. No not audible or visual but total data tracking, Mah used, temp on whatever you want and LCD display. That was my choice anyway.

This one works great! You can see it far off on a sunny day. If you follow instructions, it is dead on when you check by recharging. I use one of these on my smaller models, but still use timer with the larger ones.

Thanks for the inputs and recommendations. I am using the timer and I want to add a visual aid also.

A timer on your TX is the best way to go. Voltage alarms are not very popular among experienced pilots.

Timers alone are not a good idea. You can have a radically different discharge state if you fly a nice docile flight or a hard 3d flight using the same flight time.

A lipo alarm is a fool proof way to know EXACTLY when to land.

They aren't popular with the pro's, as you claim, likely because the pro's are flying pretty much the same 3-D type flights every time. A person who is learning and progressing is likely to try different more current intensive maneuver's during their flights. By using a timer with a set time, you could have one flight where you are at or below the 80% rule and then on another flight where you tried a bunch of current intensive maneuvers, you could exceed the 80% rule.

I use both a Tx timer and a homemade lipo alarm set to alarm visually with a high output, wide viewing angle LED when the cells reach 3.33V per cell. This setting is under load too so when at rest, the cell voltages are closer to 3.5 and above.
