Oh that depends on you location. And yes, sometimes its not worth it but then again, its such a shame to throw an engine away...

If I remember correctly, new OS hyper costs here 160€

Liner: 27€
Piston: 16.50€
Ring: 11€
Bearing: 11€

Total cost of repair = 65.50€/160€ X 100 = 40,9% of a new engine. In this part of the world the price of repair is justified.

Tony

PS - In case of the YS its even more justified:

New engine: 189€

Liner: 28€
Piston: 15€
Ring: 12€
Bearing: 11€

Total cost: 66€/189€ x 100 = 34.9% of a new engine

The big diference between OS and YS is the head... 50€ for a Hyper head, 19€ for a YS head

Lets see almost 50% cost to rebuild VS new with a warranty. Humm I will have to think that one over. Thanks for your input.

If it doesn't fly sell it!

Hey,
From here (UK) you can get a new Hyper for around £100 ($200'ish) BUT.
Spairs... haha, now theres a laugh.

Piston Ring - £15.99
Piston - £22.50
Liner - £36.50
Bearing - £10

Total £84.99

Thats costing 84% for a rebuild!

But saying this I can get the piston, ring and liner from abraud for <£40 so that makes it justifyable

This countrys screwy.

SkateFreak: Dude you really need to start buying in the EU... No customs, no taxes and spares WAY cheaper than in the UK.

I got those prices from a german store. Very polite and very helpfull people.

I mean... 36.5£ for a liner and 22.50 for a piston that sound like a rape to me. If you convert the currency, in germany the same items cost 12£ (piston) and 22£ (liner)
