Would love to hear opinions, preferrably from those who have had stick time on both. I really am thinking about a 600 electric and am leaning toward the rex, but I am curious what others thoughts on the raptor e620 might be. It looks like a good, sturdy heli, but I just don't see as much fanfare about it as the rex. I am looking for stability and flight time (yes I know flight times are abysmally low on the 600 class) as my most important factors. That and parts availability.

thanks in advance,
Andy

Hi, this was discussed not long ago in the e-raptor forum.

Basically the trex is a 6S machine, I have the E620SE on 10S and it has heaps of power. I like the layout of the E620SE, the battery is protected, i have crashed 2 times right into the ground and the battery only moves forward but never gets damaged.
The E620SE is a reliable machine, it doesn't have problems. Upgrade the tail rotor hub though to the stainless one ($7).

I just built a trex500 yesterday (my first trex) I don't like the stacked carbon frame, if it breaks you've really got to pull the whole heli apart, all the servos out. The fasterners on it were pretty poor, the good quality WIHA allen keys make the screws strip you need to get some other brand allen wrenches to tighten it up without damaging the screw.

thanks, i looked in the thunder tiger forum and the mini titan seems to be the ship of choice around there. I just want something bigger. I am so screwed when I get a 90 and want something bigger, lol. Already resigning myself that for bigger I will need nitro, but I have cut my teeth on electric. I too agree that the carbon fiber frame being a weak point on the rex, at least for the 450. I have personally witnessed the lower frame crunch under the stress of a not-so-hard landing.

thanks again for the input
