Flybarless Rotor Head Systems > VBar setup on 600N with Kasama head

We just put a VBar on our 600N with Kasama Head this weekend. It flew very nice. And we came up with a neat way of solving an overtravel of the head mechanics. Instead of driving the blade grips directly, we took advantage of the levers that already comes with Kasama head (see the pictures below).

Note: in the second picture we tighted the other end of the ball link that used to attach to the flybar seesaw to the main hub.

With this setup we are able to control the pitch range from +/- 12 to +/- 15, and the cyclic range from +/- 8.5 to +/- 10.5

Here is our heli setup:
Head RPM: 2200
Blades: Align
Governor: Align
Engine O.S. 50 Hyper

Below is out actual setup of our VBar.

Hope this is useful information. Any questions please feel free to contact us at staff@grandrc.com

Thanks,
Ed

Nice work guys. Another approach I used was to reduce the distance on the servo output arms and use the double ball directly in to the grip. Hours of flight with this and zero problems.

I like the Kasama product line. The Mini Titan head rocks.

Anyways I was wondering if there is a possiblity of making similar grip extensions used on the X Cell Tempest for the TREX600 Kasama head?

Id space the balls the same distance that Mikado Mikado uses for one version and use a wider spacing(maintain the Mikado inners swash ball to grip ball ratio) specifically for the TREX(since the swash is wider).

nice but i gotta say i dont like it at all your adding -delta that way.

majicjohnson's setup is way better.

and your using a older vbar program you should update it and makes tuning/setup alot easier.

Thanks, I'll try the new software this weekend and perhaps get the Vbar tail gyro to work well.

Next week, we'll try a similar setup on Raptor 90 with Kasama head.

Eco8gator: Kasama will introduce a similar head fro X-cell later this week.

the vbar tail works great once setup correctly. but that head setup and servo wheels isnt going to help much.

if you need any help setup wise let me know.

The best way is not to reduce the servo wheel diameter. This introduces binding and more interaction to the swashplate.

I meant to use a similar grip arm from the X Cell Tempest as a conversion option for the current Kasama TREX600 grips since it reduces the linkage rod/ball link angle at the pitch/cyclic extremes.

This part would make the conversion to flybarless very easy and also not look like a hack job.

I look forward to purpose made flybarless heads in the future and I hopefully Kasama is one of the companies leading the way...I really like the quality of your items and It seems that Kasama actually thinks about stuff before designing it.

I'm also looking for a nice and functioning solution for my t-rex 600.
My plan is to make it flyberless in the near future (within 2 months).

I just noticed that kasama is working on a few flybarless heads for 5, 8, 10 and 12mm mainshaft.

I've owned a kasama head for my ex-raptor 50 and it looked very nice, so I'm very curieus what the are comming up with!

here's a link to the kasama home page http://www.kasama.com/

kind regards remie

raptor 50 maybe t-rex600?
