Some people asked me to take some pics of the resuscitated bird. Just figured I'd show my config and how I installed stuff. If you have a wish list for anything specific let me know.

Will upload pictures to my gallery later this evening.

Looking forward for those pics, but I just amazed for the appreciation you have from a lot of RR's members, this is when decency, different opinions(constructive way) and tech support arise to help other colleagues, hope you can continue and share your knowledge in this incredible forum.

Best Regards,
Gustavo

Any chance you could get Elisha Cuthbert to stand naked holding it?

Looks good Raja,, Hard to beat that Tempest Head and flybar carrier,, What about the to bolts at the top of the side frames for the Jewel?? Did you have to make the side frame stiffners for that,, or did MA cut them for you??? XGM/VGM

What's the deal with using bolts and washers instead of ball links? ...just curious.

I really like the labels with date/flight of install (or maintenance?) - good idea!

Man, that muffler doesn't look too bad, I run worse looking on my Raptors - put it in the classifieds, it'll sell!

...yep...

John

Minair cuts those doubler plates for me to go with the Jewel. I designed them with Bob and now he's got them on the computer so he can cut them on the machine along with 1005 mounts as well. This way everything lines up perfectly when you bolt things up.

The washers around the ball links is my design as well, as I had a link pop off on my on the 12th flight when I had my first G26 gas motor in there that wasn't well balanced. I had other issues in the machine as well with the delrin ball not being perfectly round. In any case I vowed this would never happen to me again and I've trapped all the ball links with the thicker rods. If anyone wants this call Bob at Minair and he can put together a kit for you for about $25 or so. I made a list with all the required parts for him to put it together for me, he should still have that on file.

Yes, I like the idea of knowing how many flight/how long my servos have been in the model. I even started putting a label on the engine as well.

From Minair

The ones John quoted are the large ones, there are also small ones that I use on my ship for the servo wire, double check what you need before you order.

What's happened?

Really nothing. I show up to the field, the guy who smashed my heli has a new Dragon Lady plane with an OS91 engine. New $60 hitec servos. The reason I know is he has a problem with one of them and he was complaining about it going bad costing so much. I can see that as he almost crashed his plane due to a bad servo. And I'm glad he saved it as no matter how much of an ass he was to me I'd never wish him bad. I also heard from another fellow that he gave the motor that crashed with his airplane when he hit me to this other guy. Its running fine, just needed a new needle.

Guess from a guy who has no money, suddenly he had a good $500 to spend on a new plane, motor and servos (maybe even more).

The fellow that was standing with him was there today and avoided me, left shortly after I got there. I have a feeling he knows what happened, and hence why he is trying not to speak to me.

I waited for the guy who hit me to have his flight, and then I had my flight. His friend throttled up from the pitts when I got there, yes, from inside the pitts behind the safety fence and took off. Went way down the field and crashed into the trees at the far end. He claimed he didn't have control of it. I bitched at him for taking off from the pitts, he said no-one was there and he didn't have control of it. I said all the more reason to take off from the runway in FRONT of the fence like you're supposed to! I get the feeling they do that they want when I'm not around.

Anyway, I still talk to this guy, say hi and stuff like that. I guess I need to make out this parts bill and hand it to him, but really I haven't had time to do it or been busy doing other things, like responding here! I don't know if it will help or make a fool out of me for handing it to him, maybe they will just make fun of me behind my back, who knows.

That's the story so far. Am I taking him to court, no. Is it going to man up and do something about his mistake, who knows.
