Should there be a vertical play in the swash plate? I have about 1 mm on mine I can press the inner up and down 1mm.

no there shouldn't be any play. Is the whole bearing moving or just the upper swash. If it's the upper swash I'd say you don't have it screwed down all the way. Make sure you didn't use to long of screws for the balls into the upper swash as they could stop you from screwing it down all the way.

No its not the bearing it's the aluminium part that moves up and down. I used the screws that came with the kit. What do you mean by screwing it down all the way. Do you mean the screws that hold the bearing in place under the swash?

ok now I see how you mean the inner part can be unscrewed

So should that not be loctite on these?

No, I believe he means the top cap of the swash which is screwed to the rest of the body. This keeps the ball and teflon ring together in the swash plate.
