| You don't "have" to have the drift, but it makes life one Hell of a lot easier, which is why I buy them in the first place to offer my customers. As you've already discovered, the usual methods folks try for removing the spring pin is frustrating and will in fact, often destroy the pin, or make it otherwise unusable. This is why I offer replacement spring pins. Anyway, just PM me with your real name so I can place the order for you, or email me, or call me, or just use the website - links below.
Spring Pin
2mm Drift
Look JD, I'm really sorry you didn't know about "really" needing the 2mm drift, which is a hardened tool and not that common so it's hard to find in most places, or that spring pins are separate parts, but I just don't know how I could caution users about this in the manual. Why not? Because "all" the parts have a part number, and "all" the parts, which constitute an assembly, are marked as such in the exploded views along with their associated part numbers already and it would be next to impossible (impractical more than anything) to make a note about looking to make sure you have all the parts you need for "all" part numbers! I mean, how can I predict what folks may overlook? And including the spring pins with all output shafts would be an added (and needless) expense, i.e. making everybody pay for something only a few folks need, because usually folks extract the spring pin and reuse it . . . if you use the proper tool.
Unfortunately, I think this is just one of those instances where you're still learning the ins and outs of our product. Hopefully others will learn from your experience. Finally, once again, I'm sorry for your predicament, but just bite the bullet and order the parts and I'll ship them tomorrow and you'll have them in time for the weekend.
