Computer Flight Simulators > Phoenix: Raptor50 3D collective range on DX7 - bottom half missing

The default Phoenix model for the Raptor50 3D is set up with collective pitch range from -10* to +10*. I am using a Spektrum DX7 and I've noticed that the stick range for collective pitch seems to be from only mid-stick to top-stick, not bottom to top as I'd expect.

NOTE: my pitch curve is 1:1 linear (45* straight line, 0 to 100).

I.e.

stick at 0% (bottom) - pitch is -10*
stick at 25% - pitch is still -10*
stick at 50% - pitch is still -10*
stick at 75% - pitch is 0*
stick at 100% - pitch is +10*

So the pitch only starts to change once the stick is above 50%. This means my new pitch curve I'm trying to set up looks very odd, as it starts around 60% at pos1 and goes up to 90% at pos5.

So half the range is missing somewhere - any ideas?

Have you tried re-calibrating the TX on the computer?

that' because you are on normal mode, when you go to idle 1 mode then you should have full range.

Have a look under SYSTEM > YOUR TRANSMITTER - does the bar which moves with the throttle stick move the full range up and down?

Sorry, didn't receive forum reply notifications for some reason - I'll try this out next week. Thanks for the responses.

Bizarre, the ranges seem to be totally different on two different PCs, with the same model active. Something odd going on here...

when you setup you transmitter be sure to move all the switches during the setup.

now when you fly if the transmitter idle switch is on normal the throttle stick will move only on the upper half but when you switch to idle up you'll get full range on the throttle.

I've figured out what's going on - when I calibrated the transmitter on my home PC several months ago I had 1:1 throttle and pitch curves (the default), so the calibration routine saw the full range. When I recently installed Phoenix at work and calibrated it, I was using a profile on the TX with non-1:1 curves, so Phoenix didn't see the full range.

So if anyone else is reading this and has a similar problem, make sure you calibrate Phoenix with full-range curves.
