If you have the Avant head, there is not much to upgrade. The Avant is an awesome heli. Personally, I really like the tail on the Avant. :-0

I'm sure the avant aurora canopy fits on the efx , i was told you just have to extend the front stand off's as its a litte wider , i'm thinking of an aurora canopy for my efx...

Ok,so what is the real Diference?

Ok, so other than not having any Hirobo parts on it,will the arura fly the same as the avant?

will they weigh the same?

I really don't think an Avant with a programmable head
is going to fly much different to an Aurora
I'm certainly sticking with my Avant(s)

If your Avant is using a modified Hirobo head
you will certainly be pleased with the result obtained
by putting a programable head on it - it's just a cost issue
In this situation you may prefer to sell the Avant
(if you can - demand will be low I expect)
and buy a new Aurora kit

I fly both on a regular basis. They both fly very similar.= GREAT. The Aurora has a bit more Kewl factor, but the Avant with an Aurora canopy and skids is hard to tell the difference at 70 mph, backwards inverted.

I remember awhile back when I spoke to him that he mentioned that he would put one out but first he wanted to get the Aurora out. I too have an Avant(v1 it was one of the first kits out) and want to upgrade it if possible.

Here's the answer. I knew I'd seen it somewhere.
This is from Avantrc.com/support

Augusto , what is the reasoning behind attatching the boom supports to the skid braces? I would have thought that they would flex too much and not give enough support. I am no engineer and you probably have good reason for it, but i was just curious!
Also i heard there might be a conversion for my EFX to make it an Aurora? Would this have to include all new frames, tank, clutch parts, head, and the tail end parts. It almost sounds like a whole kit???

When you get to play with one you'll see how rigid it is at that spot.
There will be a conversion for the FX and EFX owners but pricing had not been determined yet.

Augusto.

I seriously considered waiting for such a kit to convert my EFX,
then I thought about buying all the individual parts piece by piece when they were available at HeliProz to convert to an Aurora.

If it was known, then all you would hear is :

When is it going to be out?"
When is it going to be out?"
When is it going to be out?"
When is it going to be out?"
"it's not out yet?"

When is it going to be out?"
When is it going to be out?"
When is it going to be out?"
When is it going to be out?"
"I own a Trex and what kind of business operation is this?"
When is it going to be out?"
When is it going to be out?"
When is it going to be out?"
When is it going to be out?"

Vertol, If I told you, then I would have to kill you.

Avant FX/EFX to Aurora...

Canopies...
The Aurora canopy is tad wider at the front standoffs, but you can get by without extending them...I haven't done it to mine just yet, but I probably will.

Tails...
I love the way the Avant flies and the tail is no exception....but I think the Hirobo tail grips are a bit on the fragile side...I will probably change the tail hub and grips to Aurora parts...the pics I've seen of the plastic tail grips look a bit more beefy... (probably after i get around to adding the spacers to the front canopy posts)
Am I wrong on this one?
