I would wager your pinion is loose from it's top bearing. It needs to be Locktited with permanent type, and even then, it will come loose after some flight time.

i know the OS bearing noise many have gone at the club one member at least 2 times a year
i use webra 50 engines on all my helis keeps the spares the same
i found the top bearing on the rear pinion the shaft was turning and not the bearing i will start it up tomorrow and see if that has solved the problem
if not it will be time to drop the engine and look at the main pinion

Hey Steve, does this revised starter block eliminate the need to Loctite the spur gear to the upper bearing you’re talking about? And if so how does the spur gear attack to the cultch bell?

Thanks,
-Jim

i have hung the pro up untill i get a chance to completly strip it and rebuild
the starter shaft and bearings got replaced and only run for 3 hrs at most
it has the white main gear and i know the noise when the engine bearings go but i will check them as well
so i will setup my sport for the w/end
the noise on the pro has only turned up since the crash
the sport just like another club mates has vibes on the main boom been told this is normal not normal for me as i like a smooth running machine
i will let you know what i find on the pro

Jim, sorry but I'm not sure as I've not actually seen one. I do know the new kits are coming with a pinion that has a nut on the top of it that eleminates the problem with the pinion coming unglued from the bearing, and that is probably it. Again, haven't seen one or had one apart, but most of the pinions thread into the clutch bell.
