I have the short boom and 500mm installed on there now but I also have a large boom with 550mm blades sitting aside. Think it would be a big difference in performance to stay with the shorter set up?

Seems like the longer boom would make the tail have more authority. I dunno, I have the longer boom w/550s. Ive wondered if you can get more flight time with the short boom/w 500s.

Why go to the short boom just because you’re are running 500s?
I have been running the long boom with 500s for a year and a half now.
Some people go to a short boom to increase the pirouette rate.
At 2060 RPM on the head, mine is a blur at full stick.

I have been using 500s and short boom, it looks proportional and it flips faster. The longer boom was great while learning as it made the heli look much bigger in the air.
