Since Im new at these and these site I dont know if these have been a topic yet, but her it goes! These may help guys like me that havent develop the finese to land or even those holly s***! moments!
I have a Dragonfly 4! and the landing on those is the same material and diameter of the flybar! A lil delicate for a beginner! So after a few crashes was modified using Trex 450 bump resistance landing skids (HS 1144T-00) and skid pipes (HS 1261T) and she has taken a beating why I learn!
The other day I pick a Blade 400 and today looking at them side by side I noticed that the Trex 450 skids and pipes are made thiker than the stock Blade. So I took a better look and found out that the Blade skids are flimsy compare to the Trex 450!
I measure the distance on the mounting holes and they are approx 2/16" difference! No problem! Made a mark for the mounting and heated an 1.4mm screwdriver and pushed tru! That way the original screw on the Blade can be used.
As a result now my blade has a stronger landing skids + still have the original one for spare (that it may not need!)
1- take apart 2-repair damage 3-check everything 4-go fly and crash 5- repeat #1
That is cool I put a set of the 400 supports on my Axe CP but when those break I am putting some on from my Trex 450 parts lot

Had a hard landing with my 400I had a hard landing with my 400 and the local hobby didn't have any replacement landing struts or skids so I mounted a terex 450 gear on it! Had to take the drimmel and make couple of sets of new holes.
Take offs are optional! Landings are not!

...and the black gear looks better too!
Helicopters don't fly, they beat the air into submission.
