I have both - My TRex 450SE definitely flys better and is more stable as far as I'm concerned. However, it also cost about $500-550 more when you include Futaba 401 gyro/9650 servo combo, Hitec HS65MG cyclic servos and radio gear. My current 450SE would cost $647 (priced through GrandRC today) if you bought my setup. You also have to throw in the cost for a transmitter, and battery and charger, which come with the Blade 400.
Basing the question on total cost, Does it fly (or stable) 2 or 2 1/2 times better than the Blade 400?? - Personally, I don't think so, but it depends on your skill level. My 450SE has a lot less slop in the head, but I think its unfair to compare a metal head vs an all plastic head.
Overall, I think the Blade 400 is a good value for the money! You can always upgrade it, as other Blade 400 owners have done, or use that money to buy a 2nd heli (TRex 450, 600N or E or whatever direction you want to go in this hobby) and keep the 400 stock (My 400 is staying stock).
Also, the cost of the "same crash" repair is about 1/2 as much (or less) for the Blade 400 vs the 450SE. I wish I didn't know this answer

| I don't have either, but I can't believe that anyone (including the best flyers out there) could actually tell the difference between the two - especially if they are both properly set up.
Set up and stick ability will make the worst heli look great in a hover.

Try flying both "setup correctly" and I think you will change your answer above. |
