With the new Vibe 50 on the way, I thought I would look into my Royal Evo 7 radio was capable of 140° swash mixing. Woooohooo! turns out it does...actually it allows you to mix any geometry in 1° increments. How I love this radio. I thought only JR radios would do this.

I am happy for you!

The first thing I noted when I flew my Vibe 140° is that aileron input means 100% aileron clear respond and elevator input means 100% elevator clear respond. No interaction in between them at all!!

Nice heli!!!

I notice when setting up my 120° the swash movement deteriorated and the extreme ends of the pitch.. I have read the 140° gets rid of that. Makes you wonder why 140° wasn't used from the beginning?

I think JR has 140° for a long time now.. Or you mean the other heli brands???

And i think the 140° was invented by Curtis, not sure abaut this...
but i think so..

Yep. It makes the elevator servo move the same distance as the aileron servos so they all get where they are going at the same time. In 120 ccpm setup the elevator servo has to move twice as far, so it gets there behind the aileron servos, the result is a bump in the collective.

I understood The Vibe 90 was the first 140 deg heli...and at the same time JR Heli radios had the 140 option.

The Vigor CS was the first 140 ccpm heli and the 10X was the first radio to have that option

One thing that gets a little wacked out with 140ccpm is that elevator movement ends up being slower than aileron. In order to compensate for this you have to increase the throw a little.

I ended up with 54% on ELE and 50% on AIL to get it to be the same.
