Things that I see need fixin

Here's a few things that I see that nee fixing.
1. servos installation needs to be clearer.such as where the spacers go and which servo get mounted on the inside.
2. push rods lengths are not correct..a few are not even close.
3. belt tension should be listed.
4. mixing arms holes as stated above.
5. Dampining rubber should be discussed.
6. optional parts that are available should be lised and the instructions for them should be in the manual.
7.hints like when installing the main shaft collar not to apply to much down pressure on the shaft or you will preload the bearings.
Stuff like tis will only make their kit better for the newbies..
Also I dont think they need to print manuals with cd's around and their price wouldn't it be much cheaper just to put a cd in the kit? I know it would be easier to update that way.

just my opinion

Those are some good point's.. CD would be nice but I think a printable version from the site with all those option's like you listed would still be nice.. just in case...

My list (excuse spelling/language, english not first lang)

From Latest Manual (3dmanual2008.pdf)

Elevator servo is drawn mounted inside frame. would make note to say please note that is mounted inside

Latest Manual linkage links where 80% correct. if need be sure we all can measure ours and post it here if need be with the type of servo and servo horn hole used.

I got no idea where the servo spacers are suppose to go(presume thats that plastic blocks that i don't know what its for)

Throttle Curve ID1. is the curve not to high at 50? set to about 80%. think this might cause over speading? I;m running 100, 50 , 100 as per ID 2
ID 2 100, 50, 100 with aleron/elev mixing with 20% extra throttle in ID 2 makes rolls with constant head speed.
running straight 0 - 100 pitch curve in all modes.

They post the JR swash mixing %. is this with swash exp enable or inh? inh will make these higher. i'm running 60, 60, 85. (ale, elev, pitch with exp enabled)

Tail setup. Add note to check that the tail control link not hitting when slider to the left (looking from back to front). the little lock washers hits on mine when to far over.

one very irretating for me is step 12. where they show make sure balls are 180 degrees, but the lines they drawn ain't straight, more like 175 degrees. very confusing.

last thing. there is no drawing in manual about how to mount dampners. spindle shaft was rocking alot in head without much presure. took appart and remounted and was fine. i presume o ring towards blades.

will add some more as my brain wakes up

just to say as well. New kit comes with 8mm spindle. harder screws for mounting servo's (did not strip any). main gear seems fine, had 10 flights already, so presume new clutches fine as well.

my 0.00000 1cents worth

Nice list: on your swashplate mix all should be 65 + or - does not matter but they should all be the same number. those plastic blocks are the spacers and they need to be installed to give you a good clearance.( I beleive that they went on the elevator servo between the frame and top mount of the servo) Im not at home so I cant verify that.
Yhea your right step 12 is very vage and needs to be clearified.
But even with all of these short comings this is still the best litle Helicopter I have flow to date..I parked my straus ..and now am only flying this K3D..

Thanks for reply....

just want to explain why my figures so funny.

I started off with 4 degree on cyclic , this was about 45% on swash menu, and running +- 12 degree on collective. this is 85% on the pitch. if you have exp act on swash menu on dx7 you loose about 15% on collective. that why value so high.

I upped my elev and aileron to 60%. this is about 7-8 degrees on cyclic, more than enough for noob like me.

i think if you want to learn with this heli, you need about 40 -45 % on swash, pitch one can drop if really need be, but then you might over speed head on full pitch if you don't drop the throttle curve.

i'm not trying flame you.. just trying to explain my current setup.

Oh dude I dont feel like your trying to flame me at all.. Ok here is the deal ..set your swash just like it says in the manual at 65..and then adjust your pitch curve to what ever you feel you need to run at..if it's +- 5,6,7,8,9,10 or what ever.. thats what the curves are for...
and if the heli is to sensitive you have a choice you can use flybar weights or use your dual rates and cut your elevator and aileron throws way down to a level that you feel comfortable with and use some expo to...

Please dont feel like Im trying to flame you or talk down in anyway to you as I truely am not.. Use the progams in the radio to give you the feel that you are looking for ... Set the heli the way the manufature wants you to..

Look at it this way.. its easy to limit the amount of throw that you have...but if your at the field and decide you want to add 2 more degrees of pitch ??? you are going to be working for a while to gain it back .. where as if its just limited in the curve then its just a touch away form where you want to adjust it to.

Just my opinion..
FYI we have a pretty good forum on rcphilippines about the knight setups that you might want to check out.
