Our club in Springfield Mo is having its first heli fun fly this year.
Its new too us as far as heli fun fly so any suggestions on events for all skill levels would be greatly appreciated. We host IMAC and PATTERN contest and the turnout for those events gets better every year. Now our club has some heli pilots and its time that they get their event on the books. Rumor has it that Dave Storry and Vic ( V BLADES ) will be there they only live about 30 miles from us and we are working on more pilots but alot depends on the dates its scheduled for Oct

Please send me any suggestions you have for events or what you would like to see or do at a fun fly event and also e mail me if you would like to attend

Missouri heli fly

Well it looks like were on the way to a good heli fly in just got confirmation that Vic Campbell will be there and he is talking to Dave Storey and Scott Cathey he said he believes they can also be there. Vic is donating some blades and other products for a raffle. Still working on other raffle items our LHS will donate as well. As it stands right now it will be open flying both days with a night fly on Saturday. Of course there will be flying demos by Dave and Scott.
There is primitive camping on site and hotels nearby. Working on a rib fest for the pilots (maybe free gratius) if not then there will be a bbq available for a small fee. This event will be AMA Sanctioned. I will keep you posted on the progress as it goes along and will provide web address when more info is final

Oh yea almost forgot

DATES OF THE HELI FLY
OCTOBER 12TH AND 13TH

I know its late in the season but its hard to get dates that dont conflict with other events.Please email me if you want more info

Shamoo,

I'm going to hijack your thread......

I'm going to be CD of a heli fun fly for our club in the St. Louis area; The Boeing Phanton Flyers. The tenative time frame for our fun fly is the beginning of September (most likely the 2nd Saturday). Like your club in Springfield we have a few guys that fly helis.

If anyone has any info they would like to share on what sort of events to hold I would greatly appreciate it. We are not as lucky to have any notable flyers attending but we're going to try and have some fun none the less. So if you might be interested in coming to our heli fly-in or have any ideas to share on what we can do to make it a success please email me or PM.

NEW TO ME

Well its all new to me too this is the first time I have tried to put on an event. So Im with ya man. The night fly is always a big draw, auto compition, drag racing bottle knock over are just a few examples of what can be done. We plan on having the night fly and leave it up to the pilots if they want to do anything else. We're lucky to have two members that go to different funfly events every year so im sure they will have some ideas. But mostly everyone Ive talked to said they want to just come out and fly in an open and relaxing atmosphere so that is our plan at this point. Of course demos will be flown throught the day. Just hit the internet for ideas and Hang in there let me know your dates when you get them final and ill pass it on to everyone and Ill be there for ya.

Hope you can make it to ours we look for a great turnout and a lot of fun
