| Gentlemen, I seem to have a problem with head set up. I've got the SAS frame with the CNC SE head and tail. Futaba S3151 servos for cyclic..... The head..... I have the V2 upgrade kit seesaw, mix arms, hub and flybar. I'm using the last hole on the main shaft. The swash sits farther away from servos and I don't have much pushrod thread engagement in the ball links (it definately doesn't look safe!!). Also when in neg. pitch the washout block completely falls out of the guide pins!!!!
I've been told by Greg at HeliDirect that approx. 20.5mm from the topside of the top main bearing block to the underside of the swash...when zero pitch, centered collective stick. I need to go another up another 4mm (currently 16mm)...making things worse!!!! What the .....Anybody have this situation???? Here is what I think I'm going to do....tell me what you think. 1) Use the second hole in the main shaft...which will bring the entire head down 5mm. In turn give more pushrod thread engagement (servo to swash rods) in ball links also, allowing for neg. pitch without washout block falling off of pins!!! But will I get 10 degrees of pitch in both directions doing so?? or 2) Leave setup as is (last hole on main shaft) and just make longer (servo to swash) pushrods, and being able to move the swash up to the approx. 20.5mm at zero pitch, centered collective. If you all agree with longer servo to swash rods...any idea where I might be able to buy longer rods. I can get drill rod and die and make my own...if I can't buy any... I'm thinking 50mm long...end to end...currently 45mm
Please advise....I want to fly her....soon.....
I have a HDX450 (now with a V2 Trex head) and love it....it was much easier to setup. REF |
