Today i was going for the only one flight of the day. after +/- 5minute of flight a ball link in my swashplate decided to jump of all of sudden losing the angle control of one blade. i lost the ball link as well the linkage rod that jumped to somewhere(i wonder where it jumped of with the speed it was spinning) so i lost the ball link. is there only the ball link for sale? because now i'm missing a ball link in my swashplate.

Quote

Damage report:

2x Carbon Main Blade
1x Carbon Flybar Paddle
1x Maingear
1x Tail boom slightly bent
1x Ball link and linkage rod from the cnc Swashplate
probably feathering shaft and main shaft.
i don't even saw the blades hitting the ground but both of them have a fracture right in the middle of each carbon blade. they didn't break.

I Believe this was my mistake because i wasn't using threadlocker on the ball links. i can't blame the helicopter at all. also it was fighting a lot against the wind.

like i see in helidirect.com a lot of ball links for other brands like align/blade 400 but i don't find the specific ones for the esky swashplate. so if you know some ball links compatible, please let me know. thank you

i knew that after that sucessuful nose in hover i had to crash even if it were by the helicopter itself ahah

the only thing i'm sorry is that both carbon blades broke. i still have 1 spare carbon blade here, it could have broke only one

sorry to hear about your crash....but also think about this....do your flying skills get anything out of CF blades???I do not use CF yet as I have not gotten all the performance I can out of wood blades....breaking a set of woodies hurts the wallet MUCH less....I wont fly CF till my skills are to the point I can do what I want without crashing....so that may be a few years away....spend the extra money on batteries....they will do more for your flying than CF anyday

The balls on the CNC head are thread-locked in. At least mine were. I just double checked all of them. They were still tight.

About the CF blades, I got for Christmas. I spooled them up once to see if would help my tracking issues. They didn't so I put them away. I'm become less and less of a fan of the woodies. But I keep them on there because I'm still hovering around in the garage and the woodies are fine for that. On-deck are a set of cut down Align wood blades that will go on when I'm done with Toolman piro practice, or the next crash, which every comes first

I just cant see spending 30-50 dollars for a set of blades every crash...doesn't make sense.....especially if you are only hovering....slow FF...but thats just my 3c(inflation)

no, i only used them because i run out of wooden because the align 315pro will be passed for the mini titan. so now i will order a set of woodies along with the ball links.

well at least gregor checked his ball links my crash will make you check the ball links. and by the way gregor mine weren't threadlocked. but i will thread lock them for sure now. i have here some old esky wooden main blades and i found out the stock ball links will fit the esky swashplate. but i have to change the ball link of the other side because they have different lenghs. that way i wouldn't have to make an order just because of 1 ball link and 1 set of align woodies. this would be more intelligent right? i need a new battery pack for the mini titan but that's not a priority right now.

It could be worse. Last fall I visited the local heli field. Two of the gassers crashed. One guy was fairly new, still hovering. The other, not sure of his skill level, he never got off the ground. He had an the wrong model selected in his radio.

Both birds broke thier blades. $100 per set. That's when I knew I needed to figure how to fly these things before I get a large bird (if I ever get a large bird). I just can't afford that. For the cost of one set thier blades I could:

Get a HBK2 bare bones kit and go out to dinner.
Take my wife out to a nice dinner
Get 2 really nice batteries
Get 2 Spektrum AR6100 recievers and a latte
Get 7 sets of Align wood blades take my wife out for a latte
Get 2 tank fulls of gas and two lattes

by the way i get my esky carbon blades 315mm for 19,90usd each. i get them for wholesale price because i have a online shop here for portugal. but i only have esky products. i may use esky wooden blades on my belt cp because i get them for 6usd each. do you think i should wait and use the stock ball links before i make a new order?

things i really need now:

1x New battery pack for mini titan but i have the esky 2100 20C for now
1x Ball links set

i don't think it's worth making an order and spending 10 extra usd for shipping just because of these 2 items since i can use the stock ball links for a temporary fix.

if I were you I would pick 1 type of battery and stick with it...then you dont have balance issues....put in a new battery and go

yeah i'm thinking on using one outrage xp battery pack for the mini titan. 2200 mAh 25C and stick with it. i will only have one pack for now because my belt cp will still be my main helicopter to practice new things like nose in and foward flight. i really want to be more careful with the mini titan.

regardign the tracking issue -

my tracking is dead on with wood blades. If it could be improved it would take lees than a half turn. Curious why mine's different?

It helped me when I realized how little you have to adjust to get a change in the tracking. I just "sneaked up" on the right setting a half turn at a time - and dialed it right in.

that is true. but sometimes you have the feeling of "oh it's only one flight for today, i will not do crazy things so its ok, and you never expect that to happen"

i just finished to check the helicopter. seems like the tail boom is ok. it only got moved to inside the frame, it's not bent at all, at least i can't see it by my own eyes or feel it with my hands.

so the only damage was:

both carbon blades, flybar paddes, feathering shaft and main gear.

i will use the elevator ball link in the swashplate and use one of those stock ball links with screw. i think i should be ok for now. i will order some ball links from blade 400 next time i make some order in helidirect but right now i don't need anything else besides the ball link.

my belt will be back in the air soon
