Kryptic,

I got the same letter showing how they calculated the rebate.

If you read the FAQs for the rebate on the IRS website, they tell you that the calculation letter was mailed such that you would receive it after you got your rebate.

My guess:

Im 18...

I got my rebate on 5/8. It's already spent on things I needed, although not on things I wanted.

Man I'm not sure if I am going to get a direct deposit or a paper check... I filed with direct deposit, but when I filed I had the TurboTax fee taken out of my return then the rest of the return deposited into my bank acct. It said somewhere on the IRS website that if you had a fee taken out of your return you are going to get a paper check.

I had a friend in the same situation not get paid yet and she was supposed to get it by the 9th.

Did anyone that received their money already file through TurboTax and had the filing fee taken out of their refund?

Direct from the IRS website.

Q. I chose direct deposit for my 2007 tax refund but also requested my electronic filing and/or tax preparation fees be deducted from my refund. Does that affect my stimulus payment?

A. If you requested that your electronic filing or tax preparation fee be deducted from the amount of your refund, you have entered into a financial agreement with the tax preparation provider or e-file software company for a refund anticipated check (RAC). Both Refund Anticipation Checks (RACs) and Refund Anticipation Loans (RALs) are bank products. The money that is deposited into your bank account comes from the financial institution associated with your electronic filing software provider or tax preparation provider, not directly from the IRS. Taxpayers who use RALs, RACs or enter into similar loans or financial agreements with their tax professional or tax software companies will not receive their economic stimulus payments by direct deposit. Instead they will get a paper check that will be issued according to the schedule that has been published for paper check distribution

The real reason is that the state of Florida in their infinite wisdom decided pass an ordinance that would almost double the cost of putting a new roof on. In order to get a decent price, I had to forget saving up and take out a loan before the ordinance took effect. Not what I had planned for.

But....King George the II's universal welfare check was a welcome site.
