Miniature Aircraft Nitro/Gas Helicopters > Stratus Crashed... Questions

Hey, I just crashed my stratus today. The problem we think was a Aileron Bellcrank Pivot Stud that sheered off. from the looks of it it was worn in like .5 - 1 mm. on each side and then broke off in the middle.

I was doing a roll and it started fliping and stuff and I had no control, so I quickly hit TH and it hit the ground.

Anyone have a problem with these bellcrank pivot studs sheering off?

wow never herd of that before! The bearings in your bellcrank must have locked up years ago to get that much wear on the stud. Im surprised you never noticed an excessive amount of play in your linkages. Sorry for your loss man, I know how it feels. Think of the bright side....time to upgrade to the BW style

fly it like u stole it

Funny, I just got done checking mine as I was modifying the bell cranks for the BW frameset. Mine are still looking as new as when they were bought. As mentioned, if the stud sheared off before the crash, it would have to have been a locked up bearing.

Sorry for the loss man.

the bearing was free... but another strange thing was how there was a groove in the stud where the bearing sat, Usually that means that the bearing is locked up..

edit:

heres the picture. Not sure if it'll help any though
