Europe version of 12fg distributed by robbe has no difference between heli & aero. It's called just 12FG. In american market there two versions 12fga and 12fgh. What difference between them (except name)?

Just the new model defaults heli and the throttle ratchet is retracted. The 12FG has both heli and aero throttle friction ratchets. You set either or with adjustment screws through the back case cover.

Hi there.
The 14MZ and 12Z in heli-version also has shorter physical travel on the throttle-stick. I think this also applies to the 9C radio....
Perhaps the same on the 12FG?

why would they shorten the travel on the heli specific radio?

Man, I miss the eighties.

There are 2 small "special bricks" wich reduce throttle stick travel. In 14mz they can be removed (sure in 12fg too). After that sticks must be recalibrated.
Is there any software for 12fg to recalibrate sticks after removing these "bricks".

Sorry, all the 12FG here don't have those stoppers !

I would like to know if there is a calibration software for the 12FG too....

I opened 12fg case - there is no pre defined place to install that stoppers. But theoretically it's possible to reduce stick travel.
Do you have any new info about calibration method?

I have a 12FG EU version. Whilst lacking the stoppers (going by above posts) It does have the Pitch acceleration feature as per 12Z/14MZ though.

My only preference would have been the position of the Throttle cut/Throttle hold Switches to be reversed which would require the switches to be physically swapped over. Otherwise its a nice Radio

I believe it is similiar to an optionial setting you get with a Mikado V-Bar fly-barless system.

The way I understand it, It is normally for high speed Pitch pumping. You program in how much you want the swash servos to over travel So when you add fast inputs near centre stick, if you apply +5/-5 it will for example give you +/-8 or whatever you set it too.

How its actually implimented I'm not certain..I've never tried it myself and only skimmed over it briefly in the manual.

I assume that it activates when the Stick input exceeds a certain speed/travel? and will also be switch selectable.

The same swash programability is in 14MZ/12Z/12FG although the programing itself is a little different. The 12Z/14MZ are windows based whilst the FG is Futaba's own software.

The 12Fg can also be Firmware updated via SD memory card and there is now a conversion program to allow 14MZ/12Z program memories to be swapped from 14/12Z to the FG

The 12FG also has the electronic Swash ring..Interaction menus for top/bottom and mid stick + all the swash options/mixing and Speed adjustability for the Elevator servo etc. Theres a good review outlining some of it on a well known Australian Helicopter Forum or you could download the Manual from Futaba RC America.

Sorry I cant be of more help I3DM

Hi Barney,
Yes, the pitch acceleration just works as you describe, a fast moving collective stick will activate it. Can't assign to a switch.

Only 14MZ use Windows CE as the interface. 12Z is not using Windows.

By the way, can you tell me where to download the 14MZ -> 12FG conversion program?

Thanks

TGO looks like I may have made a Boo Boo about there being a utility for 14MZ/12Z to 12FG memory transfers. I'm was almost certain I read somewhere it was a Hex conversion tool? that converted the windows file format to the Futaba software version format for the 12FG and it was on the Futaba R/C website.

sorry about that.

What that conversion utility does is allow you to move the model setup files around in a FAT Windows file system, that's all. Windows doesn't recognize the file format that Futaba uses on the SD card in the 12FG.

No ErichF, I must have been mistaken..Cant find any reference to it, I must have misread the blurb about it.

These are the only files I can find which are on the Futaba RC website http://2.4gigahertz.com/downloads/downloads.html
