JR Heli Vibe - Airskipper - Sylphide - Venture > Canopy mounting on the Voyager

I had some problems with the canopy mounts on the Voyager. They supply with the kit a set of mounts with balls a ball on the end of them, they show these throughout the manual, at the last page for canopy mounting they show using some screws and washers to mount them. Problem #1 no posts to screw them into so I just pop the canopy on and it binds with the left side CCPM linkage and servo arm. There were another pair of small standoffs, about 3/8" to 1/2" long in the kit, I added those but the clearance is still very close. Anyone else encounter this?

I found a few things wrong with the manual, includung what you found on the canopy mtg. I don't like the way they do it (with the ball type mtgs.) so I went for the screw type as the have diagramed in the manual. I bought a Quick 30 canopy mtg. kit and used the long ones in the back which are 41mm and they add enough for the clearance needed. The short ones, for the front, are not short enough, I had to cut them off redrill and rethread them to work. This mod makes the canopy to be able to just slip on so one does not have to bend the fiberglass to get it on, cracking the paint job. You still have to grind out some of the top fiberglass flange for clearance of the left and right pushrods.

hope this helps

Update
The front canopy mounts for the Vigor CS are 21mm, just the right size so one does not have to cut, drill, thread any posts. They are called main frame standoff 21mm, #970214.

FWIW...I just trimmed the canopy.....have had this problem with other heli canopies also......IE..trimming needed....the ball posts hold my canopy on tight.......don't care for the screws...just kind of a pain using the screws to hold it on, l like quick pull off of the canopy....I kinda think it saves the canopy from alot of damage in a crash, IE, comes off the heli quickly...seems like the screws have a tendency to back out also.....but with everything to each his own........just somethings to consider....not the gospel by any means....happy flying....
