| R 36 v1 -Pilot Error / Ground Crew today sat 5 1715 hrs
front tail pitch change wire stand off (1 of 3 made of white plastic) jams causing uncommanded right yaw @~1-2 / sec
White standoff slid foward while at 10 ft hover jamming the tail pitch wire coupler in the foward position causing 1 / sec piro to the right.
Figgured I'd be able to auto it from there !!!
hit hold ,auto decent got ugly but on okish but gov still switched on ,
I didn't pick the gov status and piro started up faster~2 / sec on flare and light on skids, tipped over onto blades , location in rockgarden as rock magnet at full suction.
damage
sofar at main blades only, I hope my tail 9253 is ok , felt a wee bit warmer than the others at incident +3 minutes
conclusion / lesson learnt
pilot error - dont fly with un glued front (or rear too I suppose) plastic standoff loose . |
