| I went w/ the HK 3026-1600 in hopes of getting longer run flight times while maintaining the power I get w/ the Gaui 1100kv motor.
I flew on a near flat, high throttle curve 100-97.5-96.5-95-96.5-97.5-100 so flight times will be much higher on a lower throttle curve. I also run Rotortech 550mm blades.
I ran my Gaui motor on my 4000mah packs just before swapping in the the new Scorpion motor and 6min of flight time w/ motor temp at 195F, ESC 165F, upper pack 140F and lower 130F on 22/68 gears.
I ran the Scorpion on 15/68 gears for about the same head speed. After 6min of flight motor was only 130F, ESC 113F, upper pack 96F, lower 93F. Unfortunately my Revco 68t spur gear decided to lose all it's teeth before I could get the flight time, so I swapped it out for my Gaui 13/60 tooth gears and did another run and got 9min and final temps, motor 150F, ESC 156F, upper pack 136F, lower 130F.
Power was still good, but it took more stick movement to pull out of a heavy drop so it felt as if the power wasn't as good but it sound like it bogged down the motor at all so it may just have to do w/ the higher KV motor on lower gears. It also still had way more pep than my Tex 450 w/ a Scorpion HK 2221-8, so it should be a good motor for hard 3d (I can't do yet so can't say for sure).
