I've been working on this project for a couple years, finally ready to go to the painter for the paint job you see in the pic.

nice Stet, very nice
what paint scheme will you be using?
edit: sorry I didn't read so well... it sure is going to be nice with that sweet mechanic

...it's even a 355 you're painting
edit: yes, the AS355 is the twin engine version of the AS350

ps: was that first picture a commuting helicopter from Moulineau'x (Paris helipad) to le Bourget meeting?

I don't know what heli is in the pic, I grabbed it off helispot.com where you can see many full scale paint jobs. That is the paint job I am going to do, good visibility and I like the silver making a metal heli look like it is made of metal.

Done. Working with painters is always a challenge. This guy got it close enough to what I asked for.

Test flew it and it is really nice. Carries a 3S3P 6000 pack so 10 minutes with the hacker 8L.

That has to be the smartest Eolo going. Nice one.

Looks great Stet! I was wondering not too long ago if you ever finished this project. Glad to see you have.

It flies nice and predictable. Heavy with the 3S3P battery, will be shopping for a smaller 3S pack.

Pretty much an ornament which can be flown once in a while. It fills my need for scale.

My Spirit Pro has been serving the same function this year. I bought an MSH Protos this spring to take care of my day to day flying.

Might be time for me to find a scale fuse for mine, seems the perfect use for a part time shelf queen

Wow, it looks good Stet. Three years seems to be the going rate for this model. I bought a fuselage kit about 18 months ago after reading your initial posting and it's still in primer awaiting a colour scheme I am inspired to now finish it Interesting landing gear, is it function over form, or is the kit/scale version rubbish ? The tail rotor seems to be on the wrong side, is it a shaft drive ?

It's the shaft drive. I modified Alex's carbon landing gear so that it would be more robust in hard landings.

Hi Stet

A couple of questions, where can I get "Alex's carbon landing gear" from ? I notice in the photos that you are running ball links on the servo arms, something which I've pondered over for a while (I've never been happy with the stock aircraft type links) Since the links nolonger drop veritically down from the swash plate to the servo arm is handling changed by a noticeable amount ?
