Hi, I am looking for some setup info on this combo with a 12 tooth pinion. Where do I need to have my throttle curve at for a proper headspeed. I am running the flightpower 2170 packs and getting about 10 minutes hovering. I am hovering without training gear but have not moved into forward flight yet. I am also using the 325 align wood blades so I dont need balistic headspeed. My throttle curve is set at 53% mid stick and 65% at full. Pitch curve is -2,0,9. I believe most people run the Align motors at 65 to 70% but the Scorpion has more power. Should I set mid stick at 65% or is this way to much. What about speed control settings wher do they need to be for this motor? All comments would be appreciated. Thanks.

Do you own a tach? They're cheap and you must use one until you learn to set your headspeed by sound and feel.

You don't want to set your throttle curve by % only. You want to tach the head and see what you get.

It's much more important to gear your heli properly to get the headspeed you want AND keep your throttle % ABOVE 70%. The lower you set your throttle curve, the harder you work your ESC, the more energy (battery) you waste, the shorter the life span of your ESC.
