Align T-REX 600N 700N > T-REX 600N MAIN GEAR IS HAVING PROBLEMS.... HELP PLEASE !!!!!!

my main gear with the one way on my 600N is creating major problems. first of all, the one way won't lock, so it spins with a slight amount of force when pushed either way. another thing is that when I take the main gear out, the head will spin like no other, but as soon as I put it back into the main shaft, and rotate the head with the same amount of force, it will only allow the whole assembly to complete 2 rotations. now I'm no heli expert, but this just ain't normal.

any help is much much appreciated.

Actually, if you have the sport version.... This is normal.

This is not normal. You need to determine if the bearing is spinning in the hub, or if the bearing is bad.

Get a new one way then.

George,

what do you mean by normal with a sport? If you give the head a good twist it should go a good 30 times.

The belt driven tail..... It has more friction than the TT. Especially if the belt tension isn't perfect.

Sounds like you need a new one-way.

My money is on a new one way. It should LOCK in the clockwise direction to turn the head!

sorry for the late reply...

I have the 600N pro, with the TT not a belt driven tail. I think that its either the one way bearing, or the bearing in either the front TT transmission, or in the back TT transmission.

This won't solve the one way issue if there is one, but how hard did you push the boom and torque tube assembly into the main frame. Did you give about 1mm of slack, or just push everything together as tight as you could and lock it down? I mention this because you are saying it might be the bearings in the tail gearbox, or the front gear box. You can bind them up pretty good if you don't give them a little slop.

oops....

I pushed them in until they both fit very snug. let me go pull it out and see. will this have caused any long term damage because I pushed it in all the way?

ok, so I pulled apart

the TT front and back, and made extra sure that they had a little play in moving forward and back, and still I spin the head with the main gear in the heli, and get about 4-5 rotations now, but it feels very labored and noisy. I do think it is the one way.

I'm having my friend bring his extra luke rc one way and he is going to break the whole heli down.

the one way won't lock,

That would be a problem. IMO the one way on the 600N is under engineered.

I'd rather be flying

30 times? 10-15 maybe, but 30 - that's one hell of a twist.

I gave the head...

a good spin, enough the if there were blades it would've lifted off, and only got about 6 complete rotations. just gonna break down and get a new one way.

If you don't have the blades on it's not going to turn more than a couple of times. 6 does not sound out of line if the blades are off and you are spinning it with only the grips, flybar and paddles.

make sure to check the bearings in the clutch assembly as well. just changed those for a friend last night and they were roached! so if you have to take out the head and main gear i would check the clutch bearing while your at it.

clutch bearing....

its a new heli out of the kit, so I would expect that it would have no problems.

I am having my friend jason bell come over tomorrow to break the whole assembly down from head to tail.

I appreciate all of your help from everyone. The RR community has proven to be a second family to me as I am just getting started into helis coming from planes. "to the dark side"

He he, don't trust Jason with your heli. Last time he touched one of mine the blades were 4 inches out of track

hahahahaha.....

yea right....I built the head with digital calipers, so its good to go.
I'm just having the normal issues.
4 inches isn't even possible, your heli would be vibrating like a dildo on 120v from an outlet.
