Miniature Aircraft Nitro/Gas Helicopters > just wondering about Fury Extreme

Has anyone had any problems with the Fury Extreme, the plastic blade grips, or any sort of problems. I had a trex 600 nitro sport kit and running 1950 head speed in a choas, or piro flip, I guess, I do't know what to call it, the bolts came out of the grips, the spendle, totaled everything on the heli but main reciever and and engine block. I had metal drips if that made a difference, at first I though it was somthing I was doing, but don't see how, it was a pretty stable piro flip, is there anything that I could be doing wrong for this to have happened? Anyways ifyou can tell me anything about the trex and about the Fury extreme, whick I just got, that would be nice. Thanks

I have bent many blade bolts but the grip still is intact, the Fury does fly nice and it is not that hard to work on. If you built a Trex you can handle a Fury.

r/cBoone, the only thing I can think on the Trex was that either the spindle or the spindle bolt was defective. Align's QC isn't the best, but stuff like that is pretty rare, considering how many kits are out there.

Stuff happens, we all know that, but I haven't heard ANY cases of MA blade grips failing. Use the MA 5mm blade bolts, and you shouldn't have any problems. The biggest reason for failure, is builder ERROR! It happens to all of us at some time. Use Loctite, and don't over tighten stuff, especially steel screws into aluminum. Those are two biggies.

well, my trex came apart 2 times in the air, one about 15 tanks into flying and the other on second tank of fuel, I have built the Fury and flown it already, have only done rolls, my govoner messed up, getting it replaced this week. I love the Fury thus far. I just don't want anything to happen. I use loctite, I think my Fury has the 5mm bolts, there alot bigger then my trex 600N. I don't know if there is a possibility that I could have done somthing wrong while flying it for it to come apart, I was doing a piro flip like mention, use very little collective, and it was maintaining 1950 rpm head speed, is this to much, I was told to run 2100 with my metal grips on the radix blades and paddles. But is there anything I could do wrong, and not even suspect it? Thanks for replies

Like I said, I've never heard of that happening on the Trex before, only thing I could think of is that the headspeed was ridiculously high, the spindle bolts were over tightened (stripped?), or the spindle was defective. I have heard of the feathering shaft snapping on a fury, but I've only heard of that once. There's always the chance that there will be a mechanical failure unfortunately.

Well the threads weren't stripd, the bolt was really tight, but threads not striped, headspeed was 1900 for 3rd tank fo fuel thru motor, first thru hei its self. The first time i had 2150 rpm but on 25th flight or so.

Anyone have anything else to say about the Fury Extreme?

Except in cases where the grip was cracked in a crash and then flown again without replacing it, the Extreme/Stratus blade grips are bomb proof.

The grips on the extreme are the same as on the stratus. Check Bobby Watts video and you will be convinced that the MA grips are bullet proof.

Just do it.

Grips are bullet proof, I have crashed so hard that I broke frames and the grips were still intact.
