Thanks G-Jiver's!

I appreciate everyone's response and guidance on the J-Give paint job - which is about the best I've seen! I just don't think my skill level of painting is up to snuff - so I've decided to go another route - that I've gone before! Currently I'm a student pilot with 10.7 hours at the controls of Air 10 (MD520 NOTAR- Red bird below) - LMPD (Louisville, KY - Metro Police) until the beloved Mayor sold it on 5/5/08! We're awaiting the return of Air 20 (Blue and Silver Notar below) from Arizona - being repaired after a training accident in 8/06, which has been there since 8/07. We're told that it will be back in June or Juy of 08? Anyway, I thought I would have some wishfull thinking and create Air 30 - a MD500E model. It will be a HDX500 in a .30 size Century 500E model with modification of cutting off about 2 or 3 inches off the tail and building some mounts for the frame! It will be the same paint job as the E model below, but in blue and silver! I thought I'd use the tail number of N530AP! I also included a picture of my scale body on my CX2! Hopefully we'll eventually get a second bird!

Peter my mistake it was another person that i know that has a G jive painted. oops Your right my fault it was some one else. I have to give much standing credit to Mike P because he is very Talented He did a great job! Because that has to be the no# 1 paint job on a hughes helicopter thats got all of my attention . My G jive will only have a 2 rotor head for a while. later i will changed it to a 5 rotor head . But for changing mine from a gas, to a turbine, i could do that but i want to keep a little different from mikes, G jive . I hope mike places a video of it's first flight with the Turbine, because thats going to be an awseome sight. Tom I have herd of this liquid masking i will look into that because your paint job turned out real good. Im sure you know its on my gallery along with Mike P helicopter.
Thanks

cheers - Jim

G-JIVE gas to Turbine

James, I have had 4 Vario, Hughes 500, G-Jive being one of them, at that time it was just a kit in the box which I sold on to a friend, who built it as a gasser, Mike then did a deal, with that owner, and rebuilt it as G-Jive, you are right about the paint job it really is spot on
I have a video of Mike Flying G-JIVE at one of the Vario SW meets, as a 5 blade gasser
Mike has been in the process of changing G-Jive from gas to turbine but has encountered a few problems, the biggest being the position of the tail drive, so if you are going to change from gas to turbine do it before you paint it
I see the new 500/paint job you are going to scale is a turbine, note that the exhaust has a deflector fitted to assist with deflecting thrust, and anti torque, also a Notar that would be cool as a turbine scaler, and no tail drive problem
