I would like to open this thread with the hope to be heard by whoever is in the business for the supply of the ball links provided with the BEAM.

I am really enjoying this heli. Very nice to put together and the parts are really well thought of and manufactured.

Unfortunately I noticed two points that should deserve attention by the manufacturer in my opinion.

The first which is not TOO important concerns the plastic rudder servo provided. Sure they do the job but with a heli meant not to need any additional better quality accessory, I think BEAM could have come with metal ones.

Second and to me very important issue is the quality of the ball links. Since we are in the 450 range, my previous experience as many of us here, was with the Align T-REX. I have built 4 T-REX 450 and none of the I needed to work on the links to have the commands free. With my BEAM it was quite the opposite, I was obliged to work them out and sometimes with no success to have a total free command from day 1.

I had 6 spare Align links and I tried them out on the BEAM. What a difference.. I can say night and day. I have recovered the free commands I like having which make servo works easily and avoid chasing the heli due to stiff connections.

I don't know if many of you have found this issue on yours and it may just be a bad batch of links that came with some kits, but with mine and comparing to Align, these were no good.

So, these are the two points I would appreciate the manufacturer to pay really attention as it ends up to pay off. Other than that this heli is a real pleasure to build and fly.

My links on my old Trex 450 were really bad too. I had to use a tool to make them smoother.

I used the same tool on the Beam links. I do with as common practice with all the heli's I've ever owned.

Well I guess I will give my two cents

I really think that the Align links suck. They are very nice at first and work well but after about 15 flights mine started to get sloppy on the ball. That being said, Beam are tight at first. I never sized any of the Beam ball links and just flew it. The problem with doing it this way is that it feels like its out of trim a little for a few flights but now that it has well over 70 flighs its fine. I am not recomending that you do it that way. I was just use to how the Align ones were so I did it the same way. I just finished up a second Beam last week and flew it over the weekend. Yes I can see that the Beam ball links could be sized and it would help out a bit. Maybe I will do that tonight and see how it feels.

Eduardo, to answer your question, Yes I think the tail servo mount could be a little better. I wish it would work with the JR 3400, Futaba 9257 size servos better, it works with them but could be better.
Ball links over all I am pretty happy with them IMO
