does anyone know if the century hawk parts work on the nexus "mainly the tail parts" OR is the boom on the hawk a different size, if so can you mod. the hawk boom and mount it on the nexus?

I could be wrong, because I don't own both. However, I had heard the tail boom may be the same size, with the tail box on the earlier hawk being almost the same shape/design as the nexus.

I would do a bit more research, but I had heard some time ago that this was an option. Post an email on the century page asking about the length and diameter of the tail boom.

PS Same advice as I have posted before (everyone probably sick of me posting it) but I picked up a couple of spare Nexus booms/main gears etc a few months ago from Ishii Mokei in Japan. Never any issue getting parts. Otherwise E-bay.

Yes, you can use the tail boom from the Hawk series as well as the
tail gearbox.In fact you should get the complete tailbox with gears form the Hawk III to connect to your wire drive.

hawk parts on nexus

Hi jfera22 here can you guys please let me know if you can the size of the boom on the hawk? if someone knows can you please poast thank you. trying to get not just tail boom sizes , sizes on any parts from a different heli. than the one you are working on is like pulling teeth the only co. that has great tech. note's is tower hobbies if you have ever shoped there you know what I mean all co.'s should have more detail's on sizes with ther parts /pics..they would probably sell more parts I'm sure some of you guys agree. thank you jfera22

yes you can use a hawk boom on the nexus. the hawk boom is about 1 inch longer so trim off the front end and re-file the notches insert the nexus drive wire and gear box and you are good to go. if you want to use an entire hawk boom and gear box you will have to create a new drive wire to mate up with stock nexus drive gear. both approaches work but the first one is easier and quicker. the benefit to the second is that you can then run the longer hawk main blades and not have any clearance issues.
