Hey guys,

I just ordered a Quark RTF and probably should have asked the question before I bought, but here goes. Can I use this model to learn to hover/fly and then transfer those skills to say a Trex 600 or a .50 size nitro?

Also, any advice on what parts I should have on hand for crashes, etc?

Thanks,

Wanabe pilot, welcome to the Quark world. This heli will allow you to get used to the basic controls but still feel like flying a larger heli. The nice thing is the crash damage is usually only main and tail blades. You should buy some extra boxes of main and tail blades and at least one more Lipo. Check out my post below and you will find a lot of good info. If you need any other info send me a PM.

Cheers

wanabe pilot ....Where did you order your Quark from in the states? Critters Hobby shop in NJ?

Blik ....I'm wanting to get a Quark to mess around in the house with but currently have a CX2. I have a lot of fun with the CX2 but was wondering if I would get bored with the Quark? $400 bucks is a lot for a fixed pitched heli so I just would hate to spend that type of money only to be bored with it after a few flights. Thanks!

Hi, A Main Hobbies - bought it on-line. Never heard of Critters Hobby Shop in NJ. Any idea where they are located?

TERollins, I think the Quark is worth every penny you pay for it. I used to own a BladeCX and CX2 and they aren't in the same league as the Quark. The crash damage of the Quark is usually only the foam blades which are cheap and take 2 mins to change. The negative was the Hirobo 480 mAH lipo because they are expensive. You can now modify and use the Thunder Power 730mAh lipos at half the price and a few more minutes flight time. What I like is how this little heli has the feel of it's larger brothers but stability of the counter rotating FP helis. The old saying "You pay for what you get" is definately true for this Quark heli.

Thanks for the info guys. I've been wanting to get the Quark after reading the review in RC Heli. The price is what shocked me. I plan on getting one either way. I still like my CX2 but I want something different to fly in the house other than the CX2. The fact that the Quark has foam blades makes me feel better flying it around my kids in the house. Is there a thread on how to use the Thunder Power 730mAh lipos with the Quark? Thanks!

TERollins, this info will show you all the items needed to make the TP 730 lipos work with the Quark.
