I had an improperly made EC3 parallel adapter smoke my ESC and E-flight refuses to replace my speed control. I am not very happy with Horizon Hobby right now.

What was faulty about it? Reversed polarity?

Yep... Black wire on the possitve side. I went to plug in the battery and all the magic smoke came out of my ESC.

Ouch! I wouldn't be very happy with Horizon about that either! I'm more than a little surprised they're not accepting responsibility and making this right.

I had my Local hobby shop handle the matter, thinking that maybe with them as backing I could get more done. The owner of the shop knows me well, and can vouch that I know how to properly set-up my equipment. I am going to try and call Horizon today myself and see what they have to say. It just sucks that an $8 harness just cost me over $70.

Yup,

Same happened to me with a faulty series connector, even had a un-opened in the original bag which I sent pictures of, they took no responsibility.

cost me an ESC and a battery.

I make my own now-a-days.

That blade 400 ESC sucks any ways. It will smoke by it self eventually. Just get a better ESC, they're not that expensive.

That sucks thought.

My friend 400 came all screwed up. Soon as it power up and binded, not knowing what we doing, we were doing preflight check and all the servo binded, turn out that Swash Mix in TX was setup all wrong.

I personally don't care for any E-flight products. The only one that I like is the EC3 battery connector. The ESC that the harness fried was a pentium 60 amp with switching BEC. Horizon is not even offering to send me an E-flight replacement ( not that I actually want it). The reason I bought the Pentium was for the better BEC, and E-flight doesn't even offer an ESC with that feature. My official Boycott of Horizon Hobby Started today by the way. And as soon as someone comes up with a better connector than the EC3, I will quit that too.
