Hi Everyone

I have just bought the 603 carb to put on my xcell . I've just had a quick look and the throttle linkage appears to be reversed on it, ie i cant use the setup i had before, Is there a way to reverse the throttle? I don't want to strip the new carb for no reason

Cheers

Reverse Throttle?

Your question isn't clear. You might need a custom throttle arm or you can hook your throttle up to the top of the carb.
Can you describe why you think you need to reverse the carb?

Mick, you should just be able to put the Xcell custom arm on, and bolt the carb to the engine without any mods...

Hi Gents,

Sorry for the confusion, not got access to a camera yet so will try to describe it better.

With the carb bolted on, looking down on it the fuel bulb is on the right and the choke lever is front centre, the throttle arm is pointing to the left and when opened moves to the rear which causes it to go behind the frame which fouls the servo rod on the frame.
If i reverse the throttle arm on its one way mount it then fouls the mount for the fuel return nipple.

I assume the xcell custom arm replaces the stock arm on the carb, please excuse my ignorance but gas helis are still a black art up here in Yorkshire.

Your repiles are much appreciated

If you haven't already, just remove the stock 603 throttle arm and use the Xcell arm off the stock carb. You can also disassemble the choke assy. and rework it to get the choke lever on the bottom. Questions, let me know.

I just put a 603 on my X-Cell and the only thing I had to do was remove the stock X-Cell throttle arm from the 167 carb, drill it out to fit the throttle shaft on the 603, and install. Maybe there are 603s and then there are 603s?

Hi Gents,

thanks for the replies, In the end I used a steering arm off an undercarriage, drilled out to size and fitted over the throttle shaft. Tried it out tonite and it seemed to work a treat

Thanks again
