I think if your bearing was catching and releasing on a rough spot you might get a little vibe. Id change the bearing. I dont like screeching.

Back in the "day" it was common for the RC car racers to upgrade to Boca bearings. This was back when they were really only ones around selling higher quality bearings. When I started running into bearings on the Esky I immeadiately thought of Boca and checked out thier web site. For a number of helicopters they sell full kits with either thier standard bearings (which are still very good) or thier ceramic versions. Sorry no Mini Titan or HBK2 kits available yet.

http://www.bocabearings.com/main1.aspx?p=docs&id=3

Here's some info on thier ceramic offerings

I contacted Boca regarding recommendations for the HBK2's main bearing. They recommended not using Ultra-seal version so the bearings can be regular serviced (cleaned and lubed).

Here's thier search page.

I will try that......It also feels like the 1 way is not smooth....I'll pull all 3 and check.....this heli is comming up on its 1st birthday and all bearings are original(with main shaft and spindle)......hundreds of flights...few crashes but not many and only 1 bad....might be time for an overhaul

Here is the Boco guidance on cleaning bearings

Quote
The first step to cleaning your bearings is to just soak them overnight in a bath of paint thinner or brake fluid. This helps to dissolve and break down the grease that the manufacturer packed the bearings with. Then allow the bearings to air dry or you can even blow them out with compressed air to remove all traces of excess lube. Now place a small drop of oil on the shield and give the bearing a spin. If the bearing still feels gritty, repeat the above steps.

I followed this using mineral spirits on two gritty tail box bearings. One came back to life and was smooth again, and the other one never recovered.

no doubt......most of the heli is still original..frame..the whole tail, including belt...most of the head....its all about the hovers....crashing is part of the sport, but you dont have to crash weekly or every new manuver...if you take your time and prepare.....my MINI is STILL my baby......I hate it when she goes down....I honestly dont think I have more than 5 or 6 crashes on it,and all but 1 were skids and blades or a main gear...now the HBK...different story.

Thats a really good track record. I cant wait for the mini to show up. I never really crashed my belt cp. I had 3 tail boom strikes practicing nose in. All were windy conditions.(bad move) I never broke a blade. I went over 500 flights easy. I will take it easy on the mini. But i expect to use her as a pattern flyer. She shouldnt get beat to bad. I do want to go inverted this summer. I bought a honey bee cp for that. Im thinking of hanging it on string inverted and practice keeping a good hover.

I told you! read your original post. I did the same thing on BladeCP Pro. Honey Bee CP2 and I just did that same thing after cleaning dusty grease off the main shaft.

Honey Bee CP2

Speaking of grease, what with and how do I lubricate my machine, Is it even necessary? I have the Honey Bee CP2.

Not entirely necessary on the CP2, but a little shot of silicone spray on the moving parts of the head doesn't hurt. Maybe some bearing oil or silicone spray inside the blade grips onto the bearings.

The more they overthink the plumbing, the easier it is to stop up the drain.
