east coast helicopters one great company .

East coast has good parts and service for sure i have done business with them a lot in the past they are a great company. I also wanted to mention air star; International for anyone that’s here in California. For me it's convenient to get my parts from Josef.
I would like to share my Experience with everyone. I drove up there in person and wanted to see the place for the first time. When I got there I was very impressed literally blown away in what I saw. The way the place is set up. Everything is laid out very well and methodical. I noticed a huge amount of inventory with so many different colors you could imagine of parts. I was given a tour of the warehouse, I saw some impressive helicopters that were being built Josef, has multiple skilled technicians, working on custom builds, repairs, and over hauls, I noticed there were some serious custom components that had cameras mounted on them when I ask what they were I found out they were some customer, orders of some very high technical helicopters for private video surveillance, he had told me they are designed to fly 25 miles video there objective and instructed by a GPS computer guidance system to fly back under complete computer control Wow talking about state of the art technology. It was so impressive to see these machines in person. He had some of his technicians working on building one of them and the custom work that Josef does on these machines is amazing just outstanding. I was impressed to see the technicians, installing parts, and some inter- kit components right in front of my eyes. The R& D development that goes on there is very impressive. I was told if a customer has any special details or wishes you get exactly what you ask for . Each helicopter is customized right down to the customers needs. I spent about three hours there and it was amazing to see how much inventory was being shipped out over seas. It was a great experice being there. I was really enjoying my self. Plus I noticed he has all of his part components, are made of high quality CNC aircraft grade aluminum. You can’t go wrong with that. I need to let everyone know the best part of my day during the three hours i was there was when I went out to the flying field with Josef, and got to see my helicopter jetcat fly for the first time and got to fly it myself that was an awesome experience .
I have had some very good experiences with Josef, and his crew, he cares about my needs and goes out of his way. Also in the past he has helped me out when I was in need. Always wants to make sure i am happy with my purchase. That I appreciate very much!

cheers - Jim

James,

fyi, the ratio of Oil to Kerosene is 1:20 i.e. 1 qt oil mixed in 20 qts of Fuel, that give a little under 5% oil:fuel ratio, Wren specs 3% for theirs, but I lean to the conservative, and 1qt in 5 gallons is easy to do

Quote from the Wren manual
"The engine is designed to operate on JetA1 or paraffin (kerosene), to which approximately 3% oil has been added. Traditionally this oil has been aircraft turbine oil but high-quality two-stroke motorcycle oil such as Castrol TTS can also be used."

Reading though all of the threads on the subject, suggested ratios run between 3% to 9% with 5-6% being generally acceptable

Just want to echo James experience with air star and Josef, it has been nothing but good.

To give you an example of the level of attention, I sent an email to Josef asking him to remind me of his recommended oil mixture ratio to gas for my Mongoose (it uses so little fuel it has been a while since I had to refill my fuel can). Richard at the office read the email and called Josef who within 10 mins of me sending my email called me to remind me of the ratio.

I know there has been negative comments in the past about air star and Josef and as these were all before my time in dealing with them, I cannot attest to there validity or otherwise, but I can tell you that the level of quality, service and attention now is first class.

Jim,

Josef has been banned on this site. Why do you continue to talk about him and his products here? People are smart enough to read through that Josef uses his people to mention his company name in threads as a way to advertise his company and products.

If you feel good about his products, perhaps Josef should have a forum on his own website for his customers to post testimonial messages as opposed to using RunRyder as an advertising agency?

Consumers are smart, they see right through these threads. It's very obvious.
