Just recently finished a ikarus Bell UH-D1 body and mounted it to my hummingbird. It works but with some modifications. So for those out there wanting to know the ikarus line of bodies work and look awesome.....

Fuselage

Your Huey looks nice!
Have you flown it yet? How does it hover? I am very interested to know.

I made my own fuselage for my hummingbird using ordinary styrofoam.
I'm using stock motor and 8.4v NiMH but the flight performance is
mediocre although the body is so light.
I think the larger area of the body creates an interference on the air down draft from the main blades. (almost no power to lift off, control is so touchy).

humming bird

you might want to try LIPO cells and maybe a brussless motor to get the performance back.

Where can I get one?

Very sweet looking machine!
I want to build one in the early Vietnam war paint with the single M-60 mounted on the right skid. They used them as scouts early on because the pilots could smell cigarett smoke threw the tree tops to locate the vietcong. Where do you get that kit?

It's sort of scratch-built model with the "oil derrick" tail assy fabricated from 1mm CF rod and a canopy available from a UK publishing house that offered the plans in one of their magazines a few years back.
