| FAI history....
The FAI was created to regulate aviation in its infantcy. (sp) Orvile and Wilber Wright were actually on the commitie. Their goal was to provide rules by which pilots would fly, kinda like the FAA today. Pilots were issued a licience by the FAI. It didn't do much regulating, more of a really big club. They did set standards for world record attempts. My knowledge is limited outside of that, in regard to the early days of FAI. |
