I see a lot of Kora motors, does anyone use the scorpion motors in the leptons? How do they work out on this machine?

I looked at the Scorpion but decided on the Hacker A30-12XL for my 5S setup. The only drawback to those scorpions is they are big amp hogs, a few guys I fly with installed them in their Rex500s and then switched back after their flight times dropped off.

Just what I heard, Koras are very popular with the Lepton croud =)

The current goes with the power
If you want a hot setup - the flights will be short(er)

The Kora is a good compromise and does deliver good power
The Kora does not get hot - no risk of burning her up

thank you for the insight. if one was willing to compromise flight time for all out power would the choice be one of the scorpions, i'd assume one of the lower kv ones to match the gearing of the lepton?

OK,

I'll just tell you that my setup now is pretty ballistic:

Kora 15-14 with 19T pinion
6s 2200 (AT 3s 2200 x 3 in series)
Align 75A ESC
Sky&Tech BEC
Align 425mm CF blades

I run about 3000 head speed and it's so fast, cyclic is wicked fast and it is virtually unboggable.

I am looking into getting the Scorpion 3026-1210. The TRex 500 pinions have the same pitch for the main gear so you can use these for higher kv motors. I've been having good success with my other Scorpion motors on my Trex 500.
