Audacity Models Pantera 50 - Tiger 50 > Frame holes and fuel lines

Hello all
I was out flying today and was doing well working on my hover orientations. At about halfway through my 3rd tank the rpm's went up on the engine. The engine started to burble alittle bit like it was running rich then lean. I set her down without issue, and stopped the engine. Upon close inspection I found that vibration and excess molding flash around the hole in the frame through which the fuel line passed, had sawed about a 3rd of the way through the line. I was lucky if I had been flying a little rougher I might have cut through the fuel line enough to have killed the engine and crashed or leaned it enough to blow the engine up. I am going to do a tear down and deburr and polish the frame hole for the fuel line. Just thought I would pass this on so anybody building or flying can keep this from happening to them.

Never had this problem on the Audacity models. Hmm...I'll have to check. Any of the metal frame and G10 frames I have I either double up on the fuel line and check once in awhile, or I take some large diameter fuel line and cut down the middle and squeeze around the frame hole like a grommet and trim to fit. That method has worked great for me.

I imagine if you trim any burrs and round the edges on the plastic frames it won't be a problem.

Glad the outcome for you was good.

I anticipated the sharp edge may do that when I built my Pantera. I used a dremel and smoothed the edges slightly on any holes where I ran fuel lines. Next, I took a piece of shrink tube and slid it over the fuel line and warmed it just enough to snug it to the line as extra abrasion protection. Seems to be working great so far. You can barely see the black shrink tube on my pressure line in this pic.
