Today spektrum updated the gallery with a new picture. The sensor in-fact mounts to the engine backplate. Very COOL!

Well,
That just goes to show you can't use it on a OS Pumped Hyper. That knocks out about 75% of the 90 size machines being flown right now including me. How stupid. Why design a system that is only good for 50 size engines???? You might get that sensor on a YS depending on how thick the sensor is and if it hits the pressure nipple.

75% of the 90s is still a tiny portion of the market. There are plenty of things on the market that can't be used with every configuration. Plus, didn't you read that it can also read through the side of the case?

Gentleman, the system can also use the conventional Hall Effect sensor with no modifications. In addition this sensor can be used with many governors including the Rev Max. The choice is yours however the new sensor makes mounting a breeze!

Can the new sensor be used with a RevMax?

Sorry, I miss-read your last post!

The sensor can be used with a RevMax, and I assume would be attached at the base of the engine?

It fits just fine on YS engines. As Adams said, if you already have a TJ Pro/RevMax compatible sensor mounted on your machine, you can plug it right in. Or, if the new sensor just doesn't work for your application, install a TJ Pro/RevMax compatible sensor.

I talked to Bert Kammerer on the *Freaky* forum and he said that him and Alan have been using them for a while now. The 700 videos of them, have them using the new receiver and sensor setup, which looks very consistent. He said that it is actually a Revmax governor in the receiver, so it should be an awesome setup.

I can live with that. Use the new backplate sensor for the engines that you have access to and use a traditional magnet/hall sensor system for engines that have a blocked backplate like pumped engines. I jumped the gun a little. Nice system. A revMax is probally the most popular governor out there anyway. Makes sense because Paul Beard designed the RevMax and he is the designer of Spektrum.

It is designed to fit the OS Pumped Hyper. The sensor head is small enough to fit between the pump bracket.

It fits: OS50, YS50, OS90 and YS90.

The designs and rate of development of the Spektrum brand product line is very impressive and 2nd to none.

They are leading the industry for certain. I know personally that not only are the products well though out...such as this new sensor design and FIT but also that testing is performed extensively prior to releases on each product. Sure at times issues arise but Spektrum enhances and addresses each with due diligence. They have proved this with every product release and any bump that has come in the road while doing this.

I applaud them and am very happy to be associated/working with them. To say it's been exciting is just not enough...it’s been a great learning experience too.

Thanks to the Spektrum team. Not 1 person alone can do all this. It’s the input of many. Paul, thanks for the vision and guidance. You are a DIAMOND!

Products like this from spektrum are what keep me on the fence about switching back to futaba. I was ready to buy a 10c when they are released. When i see these products made for specific applications it makes me feel all warm a fuzzy inside. lol I think i may just get a x9303.

sweet

This is sweet and I will for sure be getting my hands on a few. I love the gov in the sensor. Its a all in 1 unit and cost less if you think about it than all the parts combined. Very good receiver.

It is a RX system that addresses the needs of modern pilots and integrates the things pilots need.

1. AR7000 - $100
2. Rev Max - $80
3. Regulator - $30-50 even some up to over $100 like the Scott Gray Reactor

What part of this is not to like??? It also says it has some new failsafe options.

I would imagine that this setup would work well with a pair of A123's for those that would like to run a setup slightly less hot than straight 2S lithium. Next they could add a glow lighter option to the RX. Be nice if the flight log recorded the lowest voltage during a flight.

Man Spektrum is doing a bang up job, nice stuff!

...yep...
