I had a bad auto (boom strike) approx 1 week ago. The crash messed up the tail housing so I used parts off my old sport to get the bird up again. All settings stayed the same on radio and 401. Now the tail holds but it wags in a hover pretty bad. I have taken the tail apart and everything looks good. The tail grips have a tiny bit of play in them but they had this before the crash with no problems. Suggestions please I want to get back to flying.

Hi,

If its not a gain related problem and the bearings are ok then it sounds as though you have some end float on the tail output shaft within the tail case. Pull it back and forth to check. You will need to shim it out if there is.

Did you recenter the gyro after repairs. Set it up in normal mode and get it to hover with as little or no drift as possible then go from there.

Dx7 With Ion Power Supply. Why use anything else.
