All,
I have just entered the world of the MA Stratus a few weeks ago I opted to go the used heli route. After I had received my Stratus, I had every intention of replacing the torn up, poorly drilled to balance, stock fan included with my Stratus. After reading a few posts on balancing the stock fan, I started to work on the 3-D modeling and CNC programming a replacement fan. I have been in the aerospace industry for 20+ years and have full access to CNC lathes, 3/4/5 axis CNC mills anytime I am in need of such. After seeing the high quality of work on the Maryland Machine's web page, my decision was to give them a try. I received my Maryland Machine's fan and was very surprised at the improved design and quality of workmanship with attention to detail that was put into the manufacturing of the fan. To say the least I gave up the replacement project. Thank you Maryland machine for a quality aftermarket product. Job very well done on this fan!
I highly recommend to all, the Maryland Machine's replacement fan.

Wow, Thanks for the compliment!

I am curious what was the runout on your new heat shrink fan ?

I have made some Manufacturing process improvements to the fans and When I check on deltronic pins and vblocks I am seeing about .00005 of runout!

Thanks

Brent,
TIR was less then .0004" on a new crank with slightly used bearings. Might be less with new bearings. Great job! I slightly heated the fan, (I did not want to get the magnets too hot) and cooled the crank end with spray brake cleaner. The fan slipped right over the key to seat itself against the thrust washer. One thing I did have to do was to support the crank from the inside without the back cover in place. I did not want to push the crankpin into the back cover during the fan assembly. Again I highly recommend this product to all.
