centuryman Iput the 14 tooth pinion on the 650a yesterday and it got me the headspeed i was looking for, but the power is still shy of the 1907,It'll just have to do till the 1907 gets back.witch with any luck should be the end of the week

That could be a memory thing, wait till you get the Neu back and try them back to back as I did. When they were both geared to give the same rotor speed, I found them much the same in powewr but the Century ran cooler....of course using the same blades at the same pitch range settings and the same esc.

Centuryman, have you had any problems running the short pinion on the Century outrunners. I have a Z-Power 30, which is the same as the Century 600+, AFAIK, and have the short pinion. I can lift the can of the motor up a bit. Im just learning to fly helis so its not a problem for me but is it a problem when you are flying hard. Do you think or know if the motor can can move up and down while in flight. I heard people mention a whaaaa wahhh sound if the pinion is not shimmed to the bearing. What do you think?
Thanks, Jimmy

I have 3 century out runners and you can move the can up on all of theme .but never had a problem in flight. I beleive the strong magnitism created by the motor when running prevents this from happening.I have had maingear problems in the winter time.I fly down to 0 farenheit.and also when doing hard 3d with 550 widecord blades. But ther was no sighn of the pinion moveing. On my 8s swift 16 i engineered a double maingear and am running the long pinion. It even holds up in a crash.

I recently tryed a cantury 85/110 esc on a neu 1907 on 8s.
with the cc hv 85 the motor ran cool.witht the century esc the motor runs very hot.
Si i think i may have figured out what people sre tslking about when they say the neu"s run hot.
I talkedto century and they have had simular experiances. So it very well may be that neu's use different timeing then century's and that may be the cause of the over heating.
I have a new castle on the way, after i change it back to a castle i'll know for sure.
Just thought you guys might whant to know.
I would'nt whant people not useing the best available motor because of a miss matching esc
My century motor's runfine with that esc, thats why i think it's a timeing thing.

"Best" is very subjective. I think outrunners with fans are the "best" for heli's. I will not buy any more inrunners for a heli.
