Miniature Aircraft Nitro/Gas Helicopters > new style fan for stratus?

i just bought a bw stratus here on RR and i can't figure out how to install the fan. on my other stratus the fan used two brass collets that compressed the fan and then tightened onto the engine shaft. this other fan does not use collets but is keyed instead. the heli also came with a key but it seems too large for my YS. are the keys engine specific which is why it doesn't fit or am i totally doing this wrong? maybe i have an OS key? i don't have a manual so i'm winging it.

thanks,
chris

Hi Cris,
Yes the keys are engine specific. You must use the key that comes
with the YS engine.
The fan is probably a Maryland fan and do not tighten the nut too much or it will not run true.
You can find instructions on RR if you search.

Hey Chris

your model has an aftermarket fan on it. The stock Stratus package still uses a common bottom collet and a top collet thats specific for the YS or OS.
