Good to see you are o/k.

That prat is just the sort we don't need in this game.

He could quite easily have killed you or anybody else who was there.

Screw him for every penny you can get.

Get back flying soon and good luck.

I dont buy the story either - "assault with deadly weapon" and arrested.
You mention nothing about filing charges. If its true, lets see the evidence.

hehe - misspelled "Feild" and "Horor"

gotta be a kid. Mainly because of what he said this guy was charged with. Negligence maybe, assault with a deadly - no way. And had it happened, I can't believe there is ONE guy in this hobby that would have no remorse for hitting him. There are a few jerks in this hobby, but 99.99% are very cool and upstanding individuals.

I call BS as well.

First he says the guy flew right into him then he says he was grazed

What is a 600N8?

I highly doubt anyone would be arrested for assault with a deadly weapon for what allegedly happened.

Lots of misspelled words.

I thought all clubs have a procedure in place that "qualifies" a person to fly alone?
I belong to several different clubs and all of them require a new member to demonstrate that they can control the aircraft(plane or heli) before they are allowed to fly without supervision. For the expert/proficient flyer who joins the club, well he has one flight with a "qualified" member and then he is good to go. For someone who is just starting out or is new/unsafe/unsure, or just isn't ready yet- they require more flights and/or time with a qualified person before they can fly unsupervised.
It makes sense and helps the new members feel more welcome as there are always people willing to help.

For the people who are saying to sue the guy and "take him for what he is worth", IF the story is true he would just end hurting this hobby even more. It's hard enough to fly heli's now anyway. So now you would want heli's to be classified as deadly weapons. Just wait till you can't fly them anywhere because of insurance liabilities. Counties banned the flying of RC anything because of the danger it poses to the public. Go ahead and ruin it for everyone so you can upgrade your B400.

Everyone is so sue happy here, it's pathetic. And is so quick to believe that this story is true. I'm saying I don't believe this is true at all.
Accidents happen, it's a dangerous hobby and there are dumb people who are in it. Doesn't mean we should all sue each other. You are taking a risk being around these heli's, everyone here knows what they can do to people.

I have to say myself I dont find this to be a truthfull story either. As far as the spelling goes I see a lot of people here that could use a spell checker inluding me. as far as suing this person if the story is/was true I have to agree with gutshot I feel it would do more damage then good to the hobby overall. But if the story is true the person that flew the heli into him should at the very least offer to pay the doc bills etc.

He listed himself as a fireman. I have a few friends who are firefighters and I know they and their co-workers "Are Smarter Than a 5th Grader" and can spell!

Maybe he's a firefighter in the playground

Sounds true to me. I had the same thing happen to me but the guys heli cut my head off. Luckly there was a surgen there and they put my head on ice and rushed me to the hospital. It took them 14 hours to reattach my head. I sued the guy for 100 billion zillion and won.
