Today I was flying my Blade 400 and I saw a guy pull up in his car pulled out a Trex 600 Nitro Pro 8 and flew it like a mad man he had total disrespect to the others he never flowen a RC helicopter and you would never think what happened next. He was flying fast and boom right in to my leg I was rushed to the Hospital needed 24 stitches and it was a mess. I was skimed by the rotor it cut my leg like a knife. The heli did not actually full on went into my leg but it skimed it like a knife and it hurt really bad. I am home and safe but i need to take it easy on the leg so no flying for a week or so.

Do you even know the guy or did he belong to your field? Shouldn't his AMA, if he has it, pay for the injuries?

Wow that is crazy!, I'm glad to hear you made it out of the hospital ok with just some stiches . Im sure hoping that guy decides to put on some training gear, and get some help from another flyer. That rly just blows my mind that he would attempt to fly it without letting an experienced helicopter pilot check it out. I still have others check my helicopter over and help me with the final radio setup, just for that reason...these things can cause severe damage. Hope you have a speedy recovery and can enjoy flying soon!

We used to have a dork like that at the Concord field. We called him Dangerous Bob. No one could convince him to fly safely. After he nailed himself with his Raptor 60, we started calling him Bloody Bob! His Raptor hit him so hard it knocked off his feet and landed on his butt several feet away. He was very forunate to walk away with mangled fingers, cuts and bruises to his torso and legs. If the point of impact was few inches higher, He would have earned the nickname of Dead Bob. I'm happy to say that he doesn't fly with us anymore. I recently heard that he cut his neighbor's fingers off while hovering a Fury Extreme on his driveway.

Anyway, I hope you recover quickly and completely.

Holy crap, if the first experience didn't teach him a lesson, nothing will. He should be FORCED to sell his helis and banned from flying ever again. Shocking. Hope he got his arse sued off.

That is messed up. If you cant fly for a week then you should definitely press charges. Helis are toys but they should not be treated as such.

Get a life? How the hell do you fly a life?

In NZ the guy would get done for Reckless Endangerment. It's a pretty serious crime.

sorry to hear about that heliman08. As everyone else said, do you have an attorney? This guys needs to learn a lesson and I suggest you purchase a fleet of Blitz Avros with a portion of your judgement.

Let your flying do the talking - don't talk about your flying

I agree. You should sue or at least kick his ass once you're healed up. At the very least teach him a lesson. I've learned people like that just don't care. He's probably sitting at home drinking beer telling his friends how you jumped out of nowhere and got in the heli's way. Make sure he'll think twice before he does it again. If you're not quite mad enough to do anything about it here's some food for thought. What if it was your wife/girlfriend who was hit? What if it was your kid/nephew/little cousin? Dog? Brand new car?

with 2 ears and 1 mouth you should listen twice as much as you talk
